ביום גינוסיא דמלכא – יום חמישי האחרון כ"ג טבת – יום בו ירדה לעולם נשמת צדיק הדור מורינו הרב אליעזר ברלנד שליט"א, התאספו יחדיו רבני הקהילה בהשתתפות מורינו הרב אליעזר ברלנד שליט"א למעמד כתיבת ספר התורה להצלת והצלחת עם ישראל ולזכר הנרצחים במלחמת שמחת תורה ולהשבת החטופים בקרוב ממש.
למעמד נכנס מורינו הרב שליט"א בשירת "כי אורך ימים ושנות חיים יוסיפו לך…" והחל בכתיבת האותיות הראשונות של ספר התורה "בראשית ברא אל־הים את השמים ואת הארץ", לאחר מכן ערך מעמד שתית לחיים ובירך הגפן. ואז החל במסירת שיעור אש להבה בו דיבר רבות על מעלת כתיבת ספר התורה.
לאחר השיעור שנמשך כשעה אמר הרב שליט"א קדיש ונכנס בשירת 'ימים על ימי מלך תוסיף…' בחזרה למעון קודשו.

A toast to life and a fiery lesson in the art of writing the Torah, dedicated to the memory of those martyred for the sanctification of God's name. Partners in writing the Torah of Rabbi Eliezer Berland, may he live long, gathered on the last Thursday of the month of Tevet, the day our righteous leader passed away.
On this significant day, Rabbi Eliezer Berland, may he live long, the spiritual leader of the generation, ascended to the world to come. The community's rabbis, joined by Rabbi Eliezer Berland, may he live long, convened to write the Torah in honor of the righteous and in memory of those who perished in the Torah joyous war.
At the ceremony, Rabbi Berland, may he live long, began with the song 'For length of days and years of life they will add to you…' and proceeded to write the initial letters of the Torah, 'In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.' Following this, a toast to life was made, and the grapevine was blessed. Then, the Rabbi delved into a fiery lesson, speaking extensively about the significance of writing the Torah.
After an hour-long lesson, Rabbi Berland, may he live long, recited the Kaddish and resumed singing 'Days upon the days of the King will be added…' before returning to his holy residence.
Currently, the privilege of participating in the Torah writing is granted to those who donate a full page (5,000 shekels) or an entire section (20,000 shekels) through the financial institutions. Afterwards, if there are still available sections, opportunities to contribute verses, words, and letters will be published on the website."
