אמש יום שני ליל י"ד טבת נכנסו אברכי כולל בית מדרשינו ברחוב עידו הנביא – אולם התפילות, לשמיעת דברי אלוקים חיים ממורינו הרב אליעזר ברלנד שליט"א.
לפניכם תקציר מתוך השיעור שנמסר במשך כארבעים דקות באש קודש:
את השיעור החל מורינו הרב שליט"א עם עניין פרשיות השבוע ומגניבת הגביע של יוסף. ועל כך שיוסף אמר להם שהסיבה שהם גנבו את הגביע היה בכדי לגלות את יוסף במצרים כמובא במדרשים.
לאחר מכן דיבר על פרשת השבוע – ויחי ומקללת יעקב את שמעון ולוי, והסביר בדברי שאלת הרמב"ן הידועה שהסיבה שהיה להם לא להרוג את אנשי שכם הייתה כי הם כבר קיבלו על עצמם את המצוות ורצו להתגייר.
בהמשך דבריו מעניין לעניין עסק במעשה פילגש בגבעה, והביא את הגמרא בגיטין בנושא זה "לעולם אל יטיל אדם אימה יתירה בתוך ביתו". וחיזק מתוך דברים אלו על ענייני שלום בית ועל כמה שהאדם צריך להשרות אווירה נעימה בביתו. בתוך דבריו מורינו הרב הזכיר כי בשבוע הבא יחל שובבי"ם ת"ת ואמר שכולם יעשו תענית דיבור לפחות פעם אחת בשבוע.
אחר דברים אלו חזר לעסוק בעניין שמעון ולוי ובמחלוקת הרמב"ם והרמב"ן בשאלה מפני מה התחייבו אנשי שכם הריגה. ומעניין לעניין עבר לעסוק במחלוקות נוספות של הרמב"ם והרמב"ן שהיו אלו המחלוקות בין יוסף והאחים. כמו כן עסק בסוגיא האם עוף נחשב אבר מן החי. והביא את מחלוקת הכרתי והפלתי והרדב"ז בדעת הרמב"ם האם עוף נחשב בשר או לא לעניין בן סורר ומורה. לאחר מכן דיבר חזר לעניין שמעון ולוי ועסק בכך שדינה הייתה בעצם החטופה הראשונה, ואמר שאף דוד היה חטוף בידי הפלישתים, והביא את המעשה במלואו כיצד אבישי עף באוויר ע"י שם קדוש להציל את דוד ברגע האחרון.
לקראת סוף השיעור דיבר על הקדושה של צרויה, שהייתה כצוּר וזכתה להביא לעולם בנים קדושים כאלו שהיו עפים באוויר, וכסעייתא לדבריו הביא את דברי המדרש רבה המדבר מקדושת האדם ומכך שאם הילד נוצר בקדושה אז הוא יהיה חריף ומהיר.

Lecture at our Yeshiva in the Holy Residence of the Gaon Rabbi Eliezer Berland, may he live long.
Last night, on Monday night, the 14th of Tevet, the Kollel members entered our study hall on Ido the Prophet Street – the prayer hall, to hear the words of the living God from our teacher Rabbi Eliezer Berland, may he live long.
Here is a summary of the lecture delivered in about forty minutes in holy fire:
Our teacher, may he live long, began the lecture with the topic of this week's Torah portions and the incident of Joseph's cup. He explained that Joseph told them that the reason they stole the cup was to reveal Joseph in Egypt, as brought in the Midrashim.
Afterwards, he spoke about the weekly portion – "Vayechi" and Jacob's curse to Simeon and Levi, explaining the well-known question of the Ramban regarding their decision not to kill the men of Shechem, as they had already accepted the commandments and wanted to convert.
Later, he touched on the incident of Pilegesh B'Giv'ah, bringing the Gemara in Gittin on the matter "A person should never cast excessive fear in his home." He emphasized from these words the importance of domestic peace and the need for a pleasant atmosphere in one's home. In his words, our teacher mentioned that next week, Shvat 2nd, Tishrei Torah Study will begin again, and he said everyone should observe at least one speech fast per week.
Following these words, he returned to the issue of Simeon and Levi and the dispute between the Rambam and Ramban regarding why the men of Shechem were liable for death. Interestingly, he then delved into other disputes between the Rambam and Ramban, specifically those between Joseph and his brothers. He also discussed the issue of whether a bird is considered a limb from a living creature, mentioning the disagreement between the Karaites and the Pharisees and the Radbaz's opinion on the matter for the case of a rebellious son and teacher. Afterward, he revisited the topic of Simeon and Levi and addressed the fact that Dinah was actually the first kidnapped, stating that even David was kidnapped by the Philistines, and he brought the entire story of how Avishai flew in the air by a holy name to save David at the last moment.
Towards the end of the lecture, he talked about the holiness of Tsruya, who was like a rock and was privileged to bring holy children into the world, such as those who could fly in the air. According to his words, he brought the Midrash Rabbah speaking about the sanctity of a person and how if a child is created in holiness, he will be sharp and quick.
